STEM Focused Aircraft Carrier Film Hits Theaters This May

Feature Version of Aircraft Carrier: Guardians of the Sea to Contain Extensive STEM Focus and Expanded CGI Content

Evanston, IL (March 29, 2017) – Following the successful limited release of the 25 minute edit, Giant Screen Films and K2 Communications are proud to announce that the 40 minute feature of Aircraft Carrier: Guardians of the Sea will release worldwide on May 26, 2017. The 40 minute version features expanded STEM content, a larger focus on crew life aboard the world’s largest aircraft carriers, and an extended CGI spotlight on the latest in naval technology,

Carrier provides an engaging learning experience focusing on STEM subjects. Throughout the film, crew members are shown using innovative technology to solve real world problems, showcasing careers in math, science, technology, and engineering. These STEM subjects are further expanded upon in the robust education pack that accompanies the film.

Carrier brings audiences aboard Nimitz-class nuclear supercarriers and Virginia-class submarines as well as inside the cockpit of F-35 stealth fighters. The new 40 minute version uses cutting-edge CGI to reveal the engineering marvels underneath the hull of these carriers and take audiences on a POV ride through the skies, detailing the advanced technology that gives the F-35 B and C variants their stealthy nature down to the state-of-the-art infrared camera-equipped helmets worn by their pilots.

Aircraft Carrier: Guardians of the Sea is available in all digital 2D, 3D and IMAX© theatrical formats. GSF and K2 will share in the distribution. Stephen Low, one of the pioneering veterans of the giant screen medium, directed the film.
