Oceans: Our Blue Planet takes us on a global odyssey to discover the largest and least explored habitat on earth. New ocean science and technology has allowed us to go further into the unknown than we ever thought possible. From the coastal shallows to deeper, more mysterious worlds, we reveal the untold stories of the oceans’ most astonishing creatures.

Dolphins leap for joy through the waves, as we begin our journey into the blue. With a reputation as cold, forbidding and remote, Antarctica can also be a fragile place, home to an incredible variety of life along its edges. Join National Geographic explorer Jon Bowermaster as he and his team travel along the continent’s frozen coastline in ‘Antarctica 3D: On The Edge.’

The adventurers explore by sea kayak, ice-worthy sailboat and on foot to gain an up-close look and attempt to better understand just how the seventh continent is changing – and in some parts changing very fast — in part due to a warming ocean. On a thrilling ride, we spin back in time to an extraordinary prehistoric world: Alaska in the Cretaceous period, 70 million years ago – the last great flourish of the dinosaur era. BBC Earth invites you to come on a journey through the seasons, and experience a year in the life of dinosaurs fighting, feeding, migrating, playing and hunting.

Spring signals new life as many species of dinosaurs start to lay eggs, rearing the hatchlings to ensure a chance of survival. But as the young grow through summer, they are vulnerable to predators like the Troodon. Cool autumn months spur the dinosaurs to migrate, but not without risk from natural catastrophes and packs of Gorgonsaurs hunting. In winter, temperatures drop and the sun ceases to rise. As spring approaches, the mature dinosaurs go in search of a mate. For the Pachyrhinsaur, scientists believe the frill on its head could help to attract a mate or do battle with a contender. Once mated, the pair will migrate back to their nesting ground to start their own family.

With the most ambitious CGI visuals, this film reveals the story behind the lives of the dinosaurs and the challenges they faced in a constant battle of survival.

Journey to Space is a celebration of space exploration, a tribute to international cooperation in space research and a vision toward our near-term future beyond Earth’s orbit – a manned mission to Mars within a generation. The film is a capstone space film, building on the groundbreaking and seminal giant screen space productions of the past 30 years—films that are themselves a part of our proud history in space, beautifully and inspiringly chronicling the space shuttle orbiter program, MIR, the International Space Station and the Hubble telescope. Journey to Space recognizes these accolades in the context of our future in space, what we’ve learned, and how to apply this knowledge to deep space missions. The film takes audiences on a behind-the-scenes tour of the international effort to send astronauts to Mars within the next 20 years, culminating in a virtual voyage to the Red Planet. Dazzling and meticulous computer imagery depicts the new machines that will soon enter into our lexicon – Orion, Olympus, SLS rockets – spacecraft, habitats, landers, and vehicles necessary to achieve interplanetary travel, touchdown and colonization.

Journey to Space taps into the same human fervor and fascination that makes science fiction so popular, our unquenchable drive to explore and discover what lies beyond. This film, though, is not fiction. Mars is the next step in what will be an unending human odyssey to explore the cosmos. Journey to Space is about the next chapter, a vision certain to inspire today’s young explorers and dreamers. It is time to take the next great leap into space. It is time for our species, in the words of Carl Sagan, to “set sail across the cosmic ocean.” Next stop… Mars!
